Dad's Double Chocolate Walnut Biscotti

Yield: 30 Servings

2 c Flour
1/2 c Unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Salt
6 tb Softened unsalted butter
1 c Granulated sugar
2 lg Eggs
1 c Walnuts; chopped
3/4 c Semisweet chocolate chips
1 tb Confectioners' sugar

This is my dad's recipe. He makes them for all my friends. (He's a sweet
guy.) As we say here in the Boston area, they're "to die for!"

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a large baking sheet. In a bowl, whisk
together flour, cocoa, soda, and salt. In a different bowl, beat together
butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat until
combined well. Stir in flour mixture to form a stiff dough. Stir in walnuts
and chocolate chips.

With floured hands form dough into 2 logs, each 12" long and 2" wide on the
prepared cookie sheet. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Bake 35 minutes
or until slightly firm to the touch. Cool on the sheet 5 minutes. Cut
biscotti diagonally into 3/4" slices. Arrange cut sides down on baking
sheet and bake until crisp, around 10 minutes. Cool on rack. Makes around
30.
