Molasses Creams

Ingredients and directions for this recipe
-COOKIE-
1 c Sugar 1 ts Salt
1 c Shortening 1 ts Cinnamon
1 ea Eggs 1 ts Ginger
1/2 c Malasses 4 c Flour
2 ts Soda dissolved in 1C Hot h20
-ICING-
2 tb Butter 1 ts Vanilla
2 tb Milk Powdered sugar
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg, molasses and soda mixture. Add
dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake
7-10 minutes at 350 degrees or until no imprint remains when touched
lightly with finger. Do not overbake. Frost when cool.
For icing, melt butter and milk over low heat. Remove from heat. Add
vanilla and enough powdered sugar to reach spreading consistency.
