Oatmeal Scotchies 1994

Yield: 4 Dozen

1 1/4 c All-purpose Flour
1 ts Baking Soda
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1 c Butter or Margarine-2 sticks
3/4 c Sugar
3/4 c Brown Sugar, firmly packed
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla or grated peel of
- One Orange
3 c Quick or Old Fashioned Oats,
-uncooked
12 oz Pkg. Nestle Toll House
-Butterscotch flavored
-Morsels (2 cups)

Preheat oven to 375?F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda,
salt, and cinnamon; set aside.

In large mixer bowl, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and
vanilla extract or orange peel until creamy. Gradually beat in flour
mixture. Stir in oats and butterscotch morsels. Drop by measuring
teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 7-8 minutes for
chewier cookies; 9-10 minutes for crisper cookies.

PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Spread dough into greased 15? x 10? x 1"
baking pan. Bake 18 to 22 minutes. Cool; cut into Thirty-Five
2"squares.
