Valencia Raisin Sauce

Ingredients and directions for this recipe

1/3 c Firmly packed brown sugar 1 c Raisins
2 T Cornstarch 1 T Sliced green onions
1 t Grated orange peel 1 t Cider vinegar
2 c Orange juice

In saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch and orange peel.
Blend in orange juice and raisins. Cook until mixture comes to a
boil and thickens, stirring occasionally. Stir in green onions and
vinegar. Makes about 2 1/2 cups sauce.

Microwave instructions: In 4-cup glass measure, combine brown
sugar, cornstarch, orange peel, orange juice and raisins. Microwave
at HIGH (100%) for 8 to 10 minutes, or until thickened; stir every 2
minutes. Stir in green onions and vinegar.

An all-around sauce that adds zest to any dish. Serve over grilled
salmon, cooked poultry, pork or lamb.
